Our Beautiful Saturday at the Arboretum

Last Saturday, March 1st, we went to the Arboretum for UTSW's MS0 day. We had such a wonderful time. The weather was perfect and the tulips were in bloom and it just seemed like the perfect opening day to the month of March and with it SPRING!!! We had a nice time chatting with the other students and soon-to-be students. Afterwards, we walked around the gardens. Some highlights of the day were:

At first Grace was unsure of the grass. It's been so long since she's been in thick green grass and even last summer and fall she didn't really like it!

But she soon warmed up to it and
then she was off and running...

...and had fun being chased!

She also tried a new "food" - rocks. She kept trying to eat them and actually got two of them in her mouth, and we had to fish them out. I'm still a new, neurotic mom when it comes to that kind of stuff and it really freaks me out!

She contemplated eating this little acorn top she was inspecting too, but we intervened just in time.

My dad thinks this picture shows
off Gracie's little "attitude" walk!

The flowers were gorgeous. Tulips are my absolute favorite, so it was especially fun to see them out in bloom already.

There were several trees in bloom too - GORGEOUS!

We saw these fountains as we were walking around and decided to save them for last. Grace had a blast playing in the water.

She didn't like the feeling of the cobbled path beneath her bare feet, so Brian held her up to splash in the fountains shooting over her head.

She had so much fun splashing and splashing Daddy too. By the end they were both thoroughly soaked, and she was laughing hysterically!

It was as close to a perfect afternoon as we could have asked for. As we were driving home I was so contented and happy to have spent a beautiful afternoon with my family enjoying the beauty of this magnificent world. Too often we are so busy that we forget to slow down and really appreciate each other and all of the beautiful blessings Heavenly Father has given us.

Susan, those photos are beautiful!! And I love the one of Brian holding Grace, both wet, and her laughing--you can totally see the joy in her face. Thanks for sharing!
(and CONGRATS on matching!!!)
